Shri Krishna Janmashtami is one of the most joyful and colourful festivals celebrated in India. At Tiny Tots International Pre School, we celebrate Janmashtami with great enthusiasm so that our little ones can connect with our rich culture and traditions from an early age.
Why Do We Celebrate Janmashtami?
Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, one of the most loved figures in Indian culture. Known for his playful childhood, his love for butter, and his timeless wisdom, Krishna’s stories teach children values like honesty, friendship, courage, and kindness. The festival is a wonderful way to introduce these values to young minds through fun and play.
How Janmashtami Is Celebrated at Tiny Tots
- Children come dressed as little Krishnas and Radhas in colourful traditional outfits.
- A fun “Dahi Handi” activity is arranged at a child-friendly height, building teamwork and excitement.
- Simple stories of baby Krishna and his butter-loving adventures are shared.
- Children sing bhajans and enjoy small dance performances, developing rhythm and confidence.
What Children Learn
Through these joyful activities, children learn about their culture, teamwork, sharing, and good values. Dressing up and performing builds their confidence, while the Dahi Handi activity teaches cooperation and the joy of working together.
