About us
Two years of first days.
We opened in a two-room house with nine children. The rooms have multiplied; the principle has not — know every child properly, and the rest follows.
Our story
It started because the alternative was a desk.
In 2024 there were plenty of places nearby that would teach a three-year-old to hold a
pencil correctly. There were very few that would let the same three-year-old spend an
hour deciding how to get water from one bucket to another.
We opened Tiny Tots for the second kind of learning. Two years on we still measure
ourselves the same way: not by how early a child can write their name, but by whether
they walk in on a Monday morning looking pleased to be here.
We have grown to four age groups and a garden we are genuinely proud of. The class size
has not moved.
What we believe
Three ideas we are not willing to trade away.
Childhood is not a rehearsal
A four-year-old is not a small Grade 1 student. What looks like “just playing” is the
actual work of building attention, language and self-control.
Small groups, always
Eight children to a teacher — six in Playgroup, where they are smallest — is
expensive, and we have never raised it. It is the single thing that makes everything
else on this page possible.
Parents are not customers
You know your child better than we do. We will tell you the difficult things early
and plainly, and we expect the same in return.
Our teachers
The people who will actually be in the room.
Every lead teacher holds an early-childhood qualification and is trained in
paediatric first aid, refreshed annually. You will meet the teacher your child would
actually have on your campus visit — not a coordinator.
