Raksha Bandhan means “the bond of protection.” On this day, a sister ties a rakhi on her brother’s wrist, and the brother promises to protect and care for her. The festival teaches love, trust, and caring for one another. For little children, understanding this bond is a wonderful start to their emotional development.
